OPEN FOR SERIOUSLY SURPRISING BUSINESSJWT Amsterdam is a combination of a seriously old advertising agency network from 1864 and a surprisingly young hotshop mentality. It is located at the Leidse Square, one of Amsterdam's hotspots and it's housed inside the famous Hirsch & Cie building, a former luxury department store in the heart of Amsterdam which opened its doors in 1882 and still maintains its grandeur today. It’s hard to imagine a bigger juxtaposition with the new, seriously surprising interior, right above the Apple store.
Kit Kat Free No-WiFi ZoneThe world is becoming one big WiFi zone. WiFi is available in bars, restaurants, trains, airports, supermarkets, etc. There’s even WiFi on Mount Everest. Result? People are constantly online. Time for a break. So we created a Free No-WiFi Zone. In a radius of 5 meters, we blocked all signals so people could escape e-mails, updates, likes and other digital distractions. Instead, they could enjoy a good old newspaper. Some even had a genuine conversation. While munching on a Kit Kat of course.
Light up your fireplaceThe series of 5 paraffin blocks, available in matching box, contain 5 cityscapes of the ‘Greatest Fires in History’. Now you too can watch as Rome burns, or should you prefer, Tokyo, Chicago, London, or San Francisco. And whilst back in the year 66 AD, Rome burned for 6 long days. You can have it burned to ashes in just 3 hours. Whilst enjoying a good book and a fine glass of wine. Arson has never been so fun.
ABOUT J. WALTER THOMPSON AMSTERDAM
We’re a local agency with international ambitions. Intergalactic ambitions even. To reach that goal we’ve transformed the agency quite drastically. For instance, we only have 3 departments: Think, Do and Make. Why? Because you have to keep it simple this day and age to help your clients face an increasingly complex world.
